What we collect and why
| Data | When we get it | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, phone, delivery address, city, postcode | When you place an order | To accept, process and deliver the order, and to call you to confirm it | Performance of a contract |
| Name, email, message | When you send an enquiry or ask for a wholesale quote | To answer you | Legitimate interests — replying to people who contact us |
| IP address, browser and device details, the page you wrote from | Automatically with a form submission | To detect spam and abuse of our forms | Legitimate interests — security of the service |
| Cart contents and session identifier | While you browse the shop | To keep your cart between pages | Strictly necessary for a service you asked for |
| Chat messages and a chat identifier | If you write to us in the chat | To hold the conversation and see its history | Legitimate interests — answering people who write to us |
| Analytics and advertising identifiers | On every page you open | To count visits and to measure which adverts led to an order | Legitimate interests — understanding and improving our own shop |
| Campaign reference from the link you arrived on | If you reach us from an advert, and only if you then place an order | To know which advert produced the order, so we do not pay for advertising that does not work | Our legitimate interest in measuring our own advertising |
We do not ask for payment card details on this website and we never store them. We do not use your data to make automated decisions about you, and we do not profile you beyond the advertising measurement described above.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the suppliers who make the shop work, and only as far as they need it:
- Our hosting provider — stores the website and its database.
- Our email provider — delivers our replies to enquiries you send us.
- Telegram — we receive an internal alert about each order and enquiry there, so our team sees it straight away. The alert repeats the details you submitted.
- tawk.to — runs the live chat.
- Google (Analytics and Ads) — measures traffic and advertising. If you placed an order after arriving from one of our adverts, we may also send Google the campaign reference and the order value so that the advert is credited correctly. This tells Google that the advert worked; it does not tell Google your name, address or phone number.
Some of these suppliers process data outside the UK and the EEA, including in the United States. Where that happens, transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
- Orders — six years from the end of the tax year in which the order was made, because tax law requires it.
- Enquiries — two years from our last exchange with you, then deleted.
- Chat transcripts — as long as tawk.to holds them under our account settings.
- Analytics data — up to 14 months in Google Analytics.
- Cookies — see the retention column in our Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
- restrict how we use it, or object to us using it under legitimate interests;
- send your data to you or another provider in a portable format;
- withdraw a consent you gave — this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Write to info@driveuptools.pro and we will answer within one month. There is no charge.
To stop the analytics and advertising cookies, block or delete them in your browser settings for this site. Our Cookie Policy explains exactly which ones we set and how to refuse them.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority:
- in the UK — the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk;
- in the EU — the data protection authority of the country you live in.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change affects a consent you have given, we will ask you again.
